Welcome to iCue 7

iCue version 7 offers several new features and changes to make it more powerful and easier to use. Some of these changes include changing the location of certain settings. Please take note of these changes and how they may affect your workflow.

Advanced Settings

Some of the more advanced features have been moved to a new Advanced Settings page. The Advanced Settings are found at the bottom of the Prompter Settings. Settings Button -> Prompter Option -> Advanced.

The following features were previously found in the Prompter Settings and are now found in the Advanced Settings.

Controller settings: Controller location, hiding.

Title Bar Settings: Title bar location, hiding.

Hide/Show Status Bar

Disable Deceleration

Use Global Settings

The Remote Options that were previously found at the top of the Remote Settings are now found in the Advanced Settings-Configure Controller menu. These settings were moved here to simplify the interface and because the settings also affect local controls, not only remote controls.

The following are new features that are also available in the Advanced Settings.

Controller Scale: Adjust the size of the controller.

Customize Title Bar: Start customizing the Title Bar.

Tap Status Bar Scrolls To Top: When enabled, touching the status bar will scroll the script to the top. This behavior could not be disabled in previous versions.

Tap to Play/Pause: When enabled, touching the script will start and stop playback. This behavior could not be disabled in previous versions.

Tap Outside Menus to Close: When enabled, tapping outside of a settings menu will close the menu. Otherwise it is necessary to tap the menu title, or the Settings button. Previous versions required pressing the Settings button or the menu title.

Customize the Title Bar

Previously the title bar was home to the settings button, timer, recording indicator, controller button, file title and remote button. Now it is possible to customize the controls in the title bar and add the features that are important to you. This could be direct access to specific settings, sharing methods, remotes and prompter controls.

Some new features are only available by using the associated title bar controls, such as navigating by line or changing the speed textually.

For detailed information on customizing the title bar, see Title Bar.

Recording Features

Recording Preview: See an overlay of the video being recorded by the camera. Size and position the preview as needed, or make it fill the screen and interact with the script through the preview. Adjust the opacity as needed.

Thumbnails and Details: Videos in the recording list now have more details about the video file and thumbnails.

Camera: Choose from the front or the back camera.

For more information, see Recording.

Game Controller Remote

The Game Controller Remote allows MFi compatible controllers to be used as a customizable remote.

For more information, see Game Controller Remote.

Speech Recognition Remote

The Speech Recognition Remote allows script control by speech. This feature is only intended to be used without an audience, in a quiet environment. English support only. It can be useful when working alone and your hands are busy. When words are detected in the script, it will automatically scroll to that position. Words can also be assigned to functions, pause/play, fast forward, rewind, etc.

For more information, see Speech Recognition Remote.

Touch Recording Remote

The Touch Recording Remote allows your interactions to be recorded and played back. Simply start recording, then play/pause, scroll up/down, change speed and otherwise interact with the script as needed. Then play back all the interactions that you previously recorded.

For more information, see Touch Recording Remote.

Dropbox

Dropbox is updated to support new service requirements.

Updated interface to be more consistant with other sharing methods.

Create and use folders in your Dropbox app folder.

For more information, see Dropbox.

Script Control

Two Marker Guide. Two triangular markers on the right and left of the screen.

Line by Line Control: Navigate the script line by line, even with different sized lines. The Next and Previous line controls are available from most remote controls and from title bar controls.

Textual Speed: Enter the speed value that you want directly as text. This option is currently only available as a title bar control.

Duplicate Files: Settings -> Files -> ooo -> Duplicate File.

Tail Indent: Indent the right side of the text. Available from the Style menu and from the format controls while editing text.
