Keyboard

Keyboard combinations can be used to control prompter features. Some common remotes send characters, like a keyboard and can also be configured using the Keyboard settings.

Access Keyboard Settings

  1. Press the Settings button.
  2. Select the Remotes menu.
  3. Select the Keyboard option.

Activating the Keyboard

  1. Set the Enable switch to the ON position to enable the Keyboard.
  2. Set the Enable switch to the OFF position to disable the Keyboard.

Create a New Keyboard Combination

  1. Press the Edit button to enter edit mode.
  2. Press the + button to add a keyboard control.
  3. Select the prompter control from the list.
  4. Press a key on the keyboard to assign to the control, the key will be displayed in the dialog.
  5. Press the Done to assign the key.
  6. Optionally, enable modifier keys such as command, shift, option, etc.

Change Existing Key Combination

  1. Expand an existing key combination setting by tapping the row.
  2. Press key button to assign a new character.
  3. Press the key on the keyboard to use for the combination.
  4. Press the Done button after pressing the key on the keyboard.
  5. Press the key modifier buttons as needed, such as command, option, control, shift, etc.
  6. Tap anywhere in the row to change the prompter control.
  7. If the prompter control requires a value, change the value by tapping the value button.

Deleting Keyboard Controls

  1. Press the Edit button to enter edit mode.
  2. Press the Remove icon to display the Delete button.
  3. Press the Delete button to remove the control.

Moving Keyboard Controls

  1. Press the Edit button to enter edit mode.
  2. Use the tab on the right side of a control to drag it to a new position in the list.
  3. Press the Edit button again when finished.

Changing Presets

  1. Use the Next Preset button to go to the next preset in the list.
  2. Use the Previous Preset button to go to the next preset in the list.
  3. Use the Preset button to display the list of Air Turn presets.

Using Single/Double Presses

Prompter controls can be assigned to single presses and double presses for keyboard controls, allowing twice the number of controls to be used. In order to assign controls to double presses the Enable Double Press option must be enabled in the Keyboard options and the Advanced Features option must be enabled.

  1. Select the • presses option to display the single press controls.
  2. Follow the steps outlined above to configure the single press controls.
  3. Select the •• presses option to display the double press controls.
  4. Repeat the process of assign prompter controls to the key combinations.
Notes: Some key combinations are reserved by the system and can not be used. These include command+H, command+space, command+tab, command+option+D. It is not possible to assign the same key combination to more than one control. If the Enable While Editing Text option is enabled, a warning will be displayed if any of the key combinations conflict with text editing key combinations. Press and hold the command key on the keyboard to display the available key commands. This is a system feature available in all apps.
