Video Preview Settings

Video Preview/Floating Recorder

A movable, scalable video preview can be displayed over, above or below the text content. Recording controls and a video overlay can optionally be displayed on the preview. When recording audio, the preview shows recording and playback controls.

To access the Recording settings and enable recording, see Media Recording.

Enable the Show Preview option for video or the Show Recorder option for audio recording. Additional settings will be displayed.

Preview Opacity

  1. Use the Opacity slider to adjust the opacity of the floating preview.
  2. Use the +/- buttons to incrementally adjust the opacity.
  3. Tap the opacity text to enter an opacity value as a percentage.
Note: The Opacity option is only available when the preview is floating and not docked to one side of the text.

Preview Position

Floating

When floating, the preview will appear over the text. The opacity can be adjusted to see the text content and the preview can be moved anywhere in the text area. Pinching will change the size of the preview. When recording audio, the recorder can be moved by not resized.

Top, Bottom, Left, right

The preview will be displayed at the top, bottom, left or right of the text content. The opacity can not be changed when the preview is docked to one side of the screen. Pinching will change the size of the preview. If needed, the text content will also change size to accommodate size of the preview.

Note: The Preview Position can also be changed by dragging the preview against an edge of the text area to dock it or dragging away from the edge to undock it. While doing so, a latch animation will appear indicating the action taking place. Wait until the latch animation is complete to dock or undock the preview successfully.

Preview Controls

The preview can display several recording feature controls including Start/Stop Recording, Still Image, Fullscreen and Camera Selection. The position of these controls can be adjusted to any corner, or they can be turned off entirely. An audio meter and record time can also be optionally displayed on the preview. To change these settings, select the Controls option.

Movable

If enabled, it is possible to move and scale the preview. If disabled, the preview will ignore touches.

Shows On External Screen

If enabled, the preview will appear on the external monitor if one is connected. When disabled, the preview will be displayed on the iOS device. When displayed on an external screen, the frame of the preview will remain on the iOS device and can be interacted with. Changing the size or location of the preview will affect the size and location on the external screen. The Preview Position setting will also be applied to the external monitor.

Video Overlay

Optionally, select a video overlay to display on the preview. This could be a watermark, safe area, title, or any combination of graphics, shapes and text. To remove an overlay from the preview, press the clear button for the option. For more information on creating overlays, see Video Overlays.
