Video Overlays

Video Overlays can be created and displayed on the video preview, as well as added to recorded video files.

To add a video overlay to the video preview:

  1. Display the Settings.
  2. Select the Recording option.
  3. Select Video for the recording mode.
  4. Enable the Show Preview option.
  5. Select the Video Overlay option.

To add a video overlay to an existing recording (requires an existing video recording, see Media Recording):

  1. Display the Settings.
  2. Select the Recording option.
  3. Select the Recordings option.
  4. Press the Video Overlay button for the video to add the overlay to.

Create a New Video Overlay

  1. Press the Preset button to display the existing video overlays.
  2. Press the + button to create a new video overlay.
  3. Select the new overlay from the list.

Select Existing Video Overlay

  1. Press the Preset button to display the existing video overlays.
  2. Select the new overlay from the list.
  3. Or, use the Next and Previous preset buttons to navigate the existing video overlays.

Delete Video Overlay

  1. Press the Preset button to display the existing video overlays.
  2. Press the Edit button to enter edit mode.
  3. Press the Remove button for the video overlay to remove.
  4. Press the Delete button to remove the video overlay. This can not be undone.

Duplicate Video Overlay

  1. Press the Preset button to display the existing video overlays.
  2. Press the Duplicate button to duplicate the currently selected overlay.

Rename Video Overlay

  1. Press the Preset button to display the existing video overlays.
  2. Press the Edit button to enter edit mode.
  3. Tap the name of the video overlay to change the name.
  4. Press Done when finished.

Add Layer to Video Overlay

  1. Select a video overlay from the list to edit its layers.
  2. Press the + to add a new layer to the overlay.

Delete Layer from Video Overlay

  1. Select a video overlay from the list to edit its layers.
  2. Press the Edit button to enter edit mode.
  3. Press the Remove button for the layer to remove.
  4. Press the Delete button to remove the layer from the overlay. This can not be undone.

Rearrange Video Overlay Layers

  1. Press the Edit button to enter edit mode.
  2. Using the tab on the right of an overlay, drag it to a new location in the list.
  3. Press the Done button when finished..
Note: The layers are drawn into the overlay in the order they appear in the list.

Editing Video Overlay Layer

  1. Select a video overlay from the list to edit its layers.
  2. Select a layer in the video overlay to change its properties.
  3. See Video Overlay Layers for more information.

Add Video Overlay to Recording

  1. Add layers as needed.
  2. Press the Share button.
  3. Wait for the video to complete processing. The final video will be displayed.
  4. Press the Share button to export the video to a different location. The final video is in the Documents/Videos folder.
Note: The Share button is only available when creating an overlay for an existing recording. It is not available when editing the overlay for the video preview.
