Settings

The settings provide access to decoder, encoder and playback settings and support features.

The settings can be accessed using the Settings button Settings at the top-right of the screen.

Power Measurement

Determines how the decoder calculates matching tones from the audio stream. Experiment with different settings to determine the best method.

Noise Level

Determines how much the noise is filtered. Adjust as needed to get the best results for the decoding situation.

Location

Determines which set of tones are used for the Blue Box and Red Box features. Choose from US, UK or Europe.

Multi-frequency Tones

Multi-frequency tones were a precursor to DTMF and use different tone combinations for the number keys. Additional control tones will be available when enabled.

Custom Tone

A custom tone combination can be configured with adjustable frequencies, volume and pulses. For more information on configuring the custom tone, see Custom Tone.

Tone Volume

Determines the volume of the tones for encoding. This applies to all tones, with the exception of the custom tone.

Tone Duration

Determines how long the tones are generated during playback.

Tone Delay

Determines how much of a delay is between tones during playback.

Comma Delay

Determines how long of a delay is generated by the pause character (,) during playback.

Attack/Delay

Determines how fast the tones reach maximum amplitude and silence when tones are generated. This is like a fade in and out for the tones. Decrease this value as needed if the speaker makes a popping sound when a tone is started.

Loop Playback

Enable this option for continuous playback. When the playback buffer is completed, it will start from the beginning again. Playback will repeat until the Stop button Stop is pressed.
