All Counter can use the camera to read different types of bar codes. When a matching term is found within a barcode that matches a terms for a counter, the counter is incremented.

The reader can interpreset UPC-E, Code 39, Code 39 mod 43, EAN-13, EAN-8, Code 93, Code 128, PDF417, QR, Aztec, Interleaved 2 of 5, ITF14, and DataMatrix codes.

Setting Barcode Data

  1. Navigate to Counter Settings to configure the barcode data for a counter. For more details, see Counter Settings.
  2. Select the Barcode Reading option.
  3. Set the desired match type. Any will only require a single option to be true in order to trigger the counter. All will require all options to be true in order to trigger the counter.
  4. Set the desired Case Sensitive option. It true, the search terms must match case in order to trigger the counter.
  5. To include the name of the counter as a matching term, enable the Search Counter Name option.
  6. To include the detail of the counter as a matching term, enable the Search Counter Detail option.
  7. Use the + button to add additional search terms to match for this counter.

Using Barcode Scanner

The barcode scanned can be used from two places, the Active Counter List and the Single Counter View.

From Active Counter List

  1. Press the Camera button at the top of the screen.
  2. A view of the camera will be displayed as the top row.
  3. Hold the camera so that the barcode appears in the frame.
  4. When the barcode is successfully scanned, the camera feed will flash red or green. Green indicates that the code was read and a counter was incremented. Red indicates that the code was read, but it is not a recognized code.

Creating Barcodes

All Counter can assist in creating barcodes for counters. The supported types are Code 128, PDF417, Aztec and QR. These codes can be previewed and shared using the device's available sharing services.

  1. Navigate to the Barcode Reading settings for a counter as outlined above.
  2. Press the barcode icon at the top of the screen.
  3. Tap the Content area and enter the text to create the barcode.
  4. Select the Type of barcode, Code 128, PDF417, Aztec or QR.
  5. Enter the Export Image Size in pixels. If the barcode is shared, this will determine the size of the graphic.
  6. Optionally, change the Background Color and Foreground Color options. Tap the item and use the color picker to change the color.
  7. Press the Share button to share the barcode graphic. The barcode will be displayed in a full screen preview.
  8. Press the Share button again to display the sharing options. The sharing options will vary between devices, iOS versions, available apps and cloud services. Options can include other apps that can share files or handle PNG graphics, such as Photos, Print, Messages, Mail, AirDrop, Dropbox, Google Drive, OneDrive, iCloud Drive and more.
  9. Use the back button to return to previous screens when finished.
