Create a New Text File with TextEdit (.txt)

1. Create a new document by choosing File>New, or press the New Document button if prompted when opening TextEdit.

2. Enter the text for the script.

3. Convert to plain text using the menu option Format>Make Plain Text.

4. Choose the save menu option File>Save...

5. Set the save location to the hard disk or a sharing service such as iCloud Drive, Google Drive or Dropbox. Remember the location of the file for transferring the file to the prompter.

6. Choose Unicode (UTF-8) as the Plain Text Encoding.

7. Ensure that the .txt extension is added to the file.

8. Press the Save button to save the file.

9. Continue to a file sharing method to transfer the file to the prompter.
