Import / Export Database

All information about courses, players and games is stored in a database.

Importing and Exporting Database features make it possible to save the database in the documents folder and import databases from the documents folder.

Importing and Exporting databases can be useful to transfer all information from one device to another device, as well as allowing for backups to be made.

Note: When a database is imported, it replaces all existing information in the database. This action can not be undone, the course, player and game information will be lost completely and can not be recovered.

Exporting Database

From the Main Menu, press the Settings button.

Press the Export Database button to make a copy of the database in the documents folder.

The name of the database will be "The DiscerDB_TIMESTAMP". The timestamp will be in the form of year, month, day, hour, minute.

The database will be copied into the documents folder and you will be informed of its availability.

The documents folder can be accessed using iTunes File Sharing.

Connect your device to iTunes and navigate to the Apps tab.

Navigate to the bottom of the screen to find the File Sharing section.

Select The Discer from the list of apps that support File Sharing.

The files in the documents folder will be displayed in the list.

Importing Database

From the Main Menu, press the Settings button.

Press the Import Database button.

You will be asked whether you want to import the database, warning that all existing information will be removed.

Press the Yes button to continue with importing a database.

Press the No button to cancel importing a database.

A list of database files from the documents folder will be displayed.

Select the database to import.

The database will be imported, replacing all existing data with the contents of the database.
