Text Recognition
The camera can be used to recognized printed text. This can be used to scan documents into the text content.
Access Text Recognition
- Show the Settings.
- Select the Prompter menu.
- Select the Text Recognition option.
Choose Source
- Press the Import button.
- Choose a source to import an image.
- Select an image.
When importing from Photos, Camera or Files, select the photo to search for recognition. Or use the Camera Feed option to capture multiple documents directly from the camera.
Using Recognized Content
- Press the Export button.
- Select New File to create a new document with the recognized text.
- Select Append to Current File to add the recognized text to the end of the currently loaded document.
- Select Share Text File to export a text file with the recognized text.
- Select Share Image to export the current image.
Using Camera Feed
- Select the Camera Feed option from the Import menu.
- Place text in front of the camera.
- Tap the camera feed to capture an image for text recognition.
- Use the Append button to add the scanned text to the current file's text content.
- Use the Pause/Play button to toggle between the last image captured and the live camera feed.
- Use the Camera button to change between the front and back cameras.
- Use the Torch button to turn on the camera's torch.
Selecting Text
- Tap the outline of the text in the captured image to highlight the text in the captured content.
- Select text in the captured content to highlight the location in the image where the text was recognized.
Preserve Line Breaks
Enable this option to preserve the location of new lines, as recognized in the text. Disable this option to capture the content as a single line.
- Press the ••• to show the options.
- Enable or disable the Preserve Line Breaks option.
