Watch Remote

Apple Watch can be used to control prompter features remotely. Remote layouts can be created using the Controller feature.

Since the watch is a much smaller screen it recommended that only a few controls be used on any layout. However, it is possible to scroll using the crown. The Watch Remote feature can only be used with an iPhone. The iPad does not support Apple Watch directly. Layouts can be created on the iPad, but can not be transferred to a watch.

Several layouts are already installed on the watch:

Using Watch Remotes

  1. Open the app on the watch. If the app is not installed on the watch, use the Watch app on the iPhone to install it.
  2. Select a layout from the list of available layouts.
  3. Use the buttons or gestures to control the prompter on the iPhone.

Using the Crown

The crown can be used in three different ways:

When the Scroll or Speed prompter controls are used, selecting the control on the watch will display a small crown image in its corner. This indicates that the crown will affect the control. Tapping again will remove the crown image from the control, which will make the crown scroll the watch up and down when there are too many controls to display on the screen at one time.

  1. Hard press or long press the list of remote layouts to display the menu.
  2. Select the Delete Remotes option.
  3. Select the remote to remove from the list
  4. Press the Done button when finished.

Delete All Layouts

  1. Hard press or long press the list of remote layouts to display the menu.
  2. Select the Delete All option.
  3. When asked to delete all remotes, select the Yes option.

  2. Select the Create Defaults option.

  1. Hard press or long press the list of remote layouts to display the menu.
  2. Select the Controls option.
  3. Select a control to use.

Designing Remotes

Custom layouts can be created using the Controller feature. These layouts can then be transfered to the watch.

Creating a Layout

  1. Open the Watch Settings from the Controller Options
  2. Select the Watch Template option.
  3. Select the watch model to create a layout.
  4. Add or remove controls for the Controller layout. See Controller.
Note: Since the watch screen is small, it is recommended to only use a few controls in a layout for the watch.

Transfer Layout to Watch

  1. Open the app on the watch.
  2. Navigate to the Remote List on the watch. This is the first screen that is loaded on the watch.
  3. On the iPhone, open the Controller.
  4. Press the Edit button to enter edit mode.
  5. Press the ••• button to display the Controller options.
  6. Choose the Watch Settings option.
  7. Press the Create Watch Remote option.
  8. Ensure that the watch does not enter the background while the remote data is transferred.
  9. Once the remote assets are transferred, select the remote from the list of remotes on the watch to load it.

Adapt Layout to Watch

  1. Create, or modify a remote layout as needed for the watch.
  2. Display the Watch settings via the Controller options as outlined above.
  3. Select the Adapt to Watch option to adapt the layout to the watch screen.

When a layout is adapted to the watch, the size ofthe controls are adjusted to fit the size of the watch screen. This prevents buttons from being too small to be touched easily. Contros that are not able to fit on the screen at one time can be accessed by scrolling the watch using the crown.
