Markers

Markers are used to create locations or cue points in the text the can easily be navigated to. Markers can be created manually or from Marker Tags added to the text content. Markers can have Marker Actions, which can trigger a variety of prompter functions when the marker is encountered during playback.

Access Markers

  1. Press the Settings button.
  2. Select the Markers option.

Adding Markers

  1. Press the + button to add a new marker to the current location in the text.
  2. Use the Add Marker prompter control to add a marker from controllers or remote controls.
  3. Markers can also be added directly to the text using Marker Tags.
Note: Markers created using the + button or Add Marker prompter control are set to the current scroll position of the text. If the text changes, the marker may not show the correct location and will need to be updated. To automatically adjust the location of markers when the text changes, use Marker Tags. Marker tags can be automatically added to the text when adding markers if the Automatically Add/Remove Tags option is enabled.

Go to a Marker

  1. Select a marker in the list of markers to scroll to the marker location in the text.
  2. Use the Markers prompter control to display the list of markers from controllers or remote controls.
  3. Use the Next Marker and Previous Marker prompter controls, available from controllers and remotes.

Removing Individual Markers

  1. Press the Edit button to enter edit mode.
  2. Press the remove icon for the marker to remove.
  3. Press the Delete button to remove the marker.
Note: Only manually created markers will be removed unless the Automatically Add/Remove Tags option is enabled, in which case the marker will be removed and the cooresponding tag in the text will be removed.

Removing Multiple Markers

  1. Press the Edit button to enter edit mode.
  2. Mark markers by selecting them from the list. A blue checkmark will appear for selected markers.
  3. Optionally, use the Select All button to select all markers.
  4. Press the Delete button to remove selected markers.
Note: Only manually created markers will be removed unless the Automatically Add/Remove Tags option is enabled, in which case the marker will be removed and the cooresponding tag in the text will be removed.

Rename Marker

  1. Press the Edit button to enter edit mode.
  2. Tap the name of the marker to show the keyboard and change the marker name.
Note: Markers that are created dynamically from tags in the text can not have their names changed. Markers created from tags must be changed in the text content. To learn more, see Marker Tags.

Assign Colors to Multiple Markers

Colors can be assigned to multiple markers at a time.

  1. Press the Edit button to enter edit mode.
  2. Select the markers to assign a color.
  3. Press the Color palette button to choose a color for the markers.
  4. Select a color using the picker.
  5. Press the Use button when finished.

Assign Multiple Key Commands

Key commands can be assigned to multiple markers at a time.

  1. Press the Edit button to enter edit mode.
  2. Select the markers to assign a key command. The order the markers are selected is the order the key commands will be assigned.
  3. Press the Keyboard button.
  4. Press the keys on the keyboard to assign the to selected markers.
  5. Optionally, enable any modifier buttons for the commands.
  6. Press the Done button when finished.

  1. Press the (i) detail button for a marker to see details or add actions. See Marker Details.
