PrompterPal can import/export the following file formats:
Word Files (.docx) (import only)
PrompterPal Files (.prompterPal)
Text files only contain the characters used for the document. No formatting information is included.
The suggested encoding to use is Unicode UTF-8. Many text encodings can be imported, but not all. The decoding of the text is done by the text system. If the system does not recognize the encoding, the file will not open. All text editors can export UTF-8 encoded files.
RTF files contain text and formatting information. Most text editors can export RTF files.
When authoring RTF files only use text formats that are available in PrompterPal. This will reduce the likelyhood of problems while importing. Be sure to use fonts that are included on the device. If unknown fonts are used, the file may not appears as it does in the authoring software.
HTML files or Hyper Text Marker-up Language files, are the same file format used for most web content. HTML files can be exported from various authoring programs. Try not to use fonts or formatting features that are not available in PrompterPal. Doing so may result in text appearing differently from the authoring software. It may be necessary to adjust the line spacing for imported HTML files.
Word files can be created by Microsoft Word, or Pages. Word files contain all text content, as well as formatting information. When authoring Word files only use text formats that are available in PrompterPal. This will reduce the likelyhood of problems while importing. Be sure to use fonts that are included on the device. If unknown fonts are used, the file may not appears as it does in the authoring software.
Currently Word file exporting is not available. Word files are only available for importing.
PrompterPal Files are specific to PrompterPal. PrompterPal files do not work in any other app for iOS or OSX. PrompterPal files can only be created with PrompterPal. PrompterPal files contain all information possible for an PrompterPal file, including text, formatting and file specific prompter settings.
