Blue Box can generate several types of tones.

Generate Tones

Press the touch tone buttons to generate the cooresponding tones for the character. The characters will be displayed above the keypad.

Special Tones

• Dial Tone: 350Hz, 440Hz. Indicates a working telephone exchange.
• Busy Signal: 480Hz, 620Hz. Indicates that the called number is busy.
• Ring Back Tone: 440Hz, 480Hz. Indicates to a caller that the phone called is still in use.
• 2600 Hz: Indicates a currently unused long distance line.

Multi-frequency Tones

Multi-frequency tones were a precursor to DTMF. This option will display additional buttons for control tones.

• KP: 700Hz, 1700Hz. Key Pulse
• ST1: 1300Hz, 1700Hz. Start 1
• ST2: 1500Hz, 1700Hz. Start 2
• ST3: 900Hz, 1700Hz. Start 3
• KP/ST2: 700Hz, 1700Hz. Delimiter

Playback

The displayed tone sequences can be played back automatically. The tone and delay lengths can be adjusted in the settings.

1. Press the Play button to start playback of the displayed tones.
2. Press the Stop button to stop playback before the end of the sequence.

Note: Dial tone, ring back tone, 2600Hz, and busy signals are not displayed and are not played back. Use the Recording feature to record these tone combinations if needed.
