The iOS Remote feature allows multiple devices running All Counter to be connected to a single hosting device. All devices will sync inventories and counters with the hosting device. Any counting that happens on one device will be shared with all devices.

Using iOS Remote

  1. Press the Settings tab.
  2. Select the iOS Remote option.
  3. On the hosting device, with the inventories and counters to use, press the Host button.
  4. On any joining devices, repeat the process but press the Join button.
  5. The devices will connect and each device will display the list of connected devices.
  6. Press the Done or Back button to exit the iOS Remote dialog once the devices are connected.
  7. Press the Active Counters tab to return to the Active Counter List.
  8. Use the counters on any devices.
  9. When finished, disconnect the devices by returning to the iOS Remote dialog and pressing the Disconnect button.

Notes

In order for the iOS Remote feature to work, all devices must have blue tooth and wifi enabled in both the device settings and the Control Center. It is not necessary for the devices to be connected to a wifi network since an independent adhoc network will be created between the devices.

If using more than one iOS Remote group in the same area, disable the Automatically Connect option in the iOS Remote dialog. This will then require a joining device to explicitly select the hosting device from a list of available hosts. For the host, a dialog will be presented asking if the joining device should be allowed to connect.

When Automatically Connect is enabled, the devices can go into the background and automatically reconnect when entering the foreground. Otherwise the connection will need to be reestablished.

A hosting device can prevent other devices from attempting to join by disabling the Allow Connection option.
