CSV files (comma separated values) can be imported to create an inventory with counters. CSV files can be exported from most spreadsheet applications, including Numbers on macOS and iOS.
When a CSV file is imported, the columns must be matched to the counter's name, description, increment, and count. This information could be in any order in the file.
When a file is imported, additional data present in the file is preserved. If a file is exported again, the updated information will be inserted into the original file content. This information can be removed from the Inventory Settings.
The document browser is a system feature that provides access to files across a variety of file sharing platforms.
Many apps are able to export files. If an app is able to export and share a CSV file, All Counter will be recognized as a candidate to open the file.
Regardless of how a CSV file is imported, All Counter needs to know which column in the file stores the data for the counter names, details, increments (deltas) and counts.
The property that is currently being assigned is displayed at the top of the screen. The first row of the file is displayed in the list. Each item representing a column in the file.
If the file contains a header row, the headers will be displayed in the list, otherwise the first row of data will be displayed.
